Our Story
Tassie Grown began with a simple dream: to build a small market garden that grows healthy food while caring for the land that sustains it. Nestled on the eastern edge of Tasmania in St Marys, we're creating a farm rooted in the seasons, healthy soil, and the unique character of this beautiful place.
With a background in horticulture and landscaping, we started by growing organic vegetable and herb seedlings, giving home gardeners access to strong, healthy plants while learning the rhythms of our own land. Those seedlings have become the foundation of our farm and an important way of connecting with our local community.
Everything we do is guided by organic practices and a belief that healthy food begins with healthy soil. We focus on building fertility through compost, growing with the seasons, and taking the time to do things properly. Every season teaches us something new, and we're committed to continually improving both our land and our farming practices.
This spring marks an exciting milestone as we'll plant our first food crops while continuing to grow and sell our range of organic vegetable and herb seedlings. As the market garden grows, so too does our commitment to producing fresh, local food with care and sharing our journey with the community that supports us.
At Tassie Grown, we believe that a strong local food system starts with knowing who grows your food. We're proud to be building a farm with intention—one that values healthy soil, quality produce, and genuine connections with the people who choose to support local agriculture.
